Overview
At Weigh2Health each patient receives a comprehensive medical evaluation and, based on evaluation results, a customized treatment plan. All treatment plans incorporate those elements, found in medical studies to date, needed for successful weight loss and maintenance. This includes regular one-on-one physician visits during which meals and physical activity are discussed as well as important weight loss strategies such as mindful eating (e.g. becoming aware of and addressing emotional eating - eating when tired, stressed, sad, celebrating, etc). The focus is not on calorie counting unless you are particularly interested in that. Medications as well as nutritional and herbal supplements may be added to each person’s plan as needed and desired for optimal weight loss and maintenance. Only medications and supplements which have evidence for success in the medical literature are utilized. Dr. Bera-Miller carefully monitors not only weight but also general health and progress on all the above components of the treatment plan which are important for long term success.
Healthy Weight Plans
Weigh2Health offers three main treatment plan types, each of which is customized through physician visits and discussion to meet your individual needs and lifestyle. Each plan is low calorie, leading to strong initial and continued weight loss, but also laying a solid a foundation for transitioning to weight maintenance for life. Each plan also incorporates meal replacements which have been shown in over 50 medical studies to be associated with successful and improved weight loss and maintenance. On average, more than 3 times as much weight is lost and maintained using meal replacements compared with traditional diets. Meal replacements offered through Weigh2Health are primarily from the highly effective and most thoroughly evaluated medically-based meal replacement program in the U.S., which has been used by over 400 hospitals and medical centers nationwide for over twenty years and has helped over 900,000 people lose weight. The Weigh2Health Healthy Weight Plans include:
- Structured Plan
- Structured Lifestyle Plan
- Lifestyle Plan
Structured Plan
This plan is for individuals who are moderately to significantly overweight. It is also for those who have very busy lifestyles and have little to no time or interest to think about or prepare their healthy meals each day. This plan incorporates tasty and healthy meal replacements (e.g. shakes, entrees) plus unlimited amounts of healthy foods so that you do not feel hungry.
Structured Lifestyle Plan
This plan is for individuals who are mildly to moderately overweight or who have some time and interest in preparing one healthy meal each day on their own. The Structured Lifestyle Plan incorporates meal replacements but less so than the Structured Plan.
Lifestyle Plan
This plan is for individuals who are mildly overweight or just trying to maintain their current weight. It is also for those who have a lot of time and interest and some experience in preparing healthy meals each day on their own. Meal replacements are utilized in a more limited but equally targeted way as for the other plans. The National Weight Control Registry, which catalogs the habits of thousands of Americans successful at keeping off 30 or more pounds for an average of almost 8 years, has found that meal replacements are used strategically by people who are successful at maintaining their weight.
