Nathalie Bera-Miller received her medical degree at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) after studying Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University and the University of California Berkeley (UCB). Following an internship in Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, she completed her specialty training in General Preventive Medicine at UCB where she also received her Master of Public Health degree in Public Health Nutrition.

Dr. Bera-Miller is Board-Certified in Preventive Medicine. During the first 10 years of her career, she delivered primary and preventive medical care, conducted research in physical activity promotion, and developed and delivered preventive health programs. She is also currently a Visiting Physician Researcher at UCSF's Institute for Health & Aging , working with Professor Anita Stewart, PhD, and her team who have researched and published extensively in the field of physical activity promotion. Dr. Bera-Miller has published articles in the topics of preventive medicine education and physical activity promotion and has given many presentations, including at physician Grand Rounds, on physical activity. She is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians and keeps abreast of research and developments in weight management, metabolic syndrome, and associated chronic illnesses.

Dr. Bera-Miller has been a volunteer for the UCSF Alumni Association. In her spare time, she enjoys running (both outdoors and after her toddler), hiking, fiction reading and writing, travel, and spending good quality time with her family and friends. Having a mother from Normandy, she is also fluent in French.
